The future has changed. The green and blues have taken over after all the golds, bronzes and brown died due to a sickness the North had. A simple brown firelizard had brought it with the group of riders. The older dragons were stressted from adjusting to the climate and the flight to the island while the younger blues and greens had an easier time. Not long after the young dragons had fought off the sickness the older dragons lost, each going
between and never returning.
The blues and greens had no choice; they had to take over or the North and South would fail. Then all of Pern would be doomed without the dragonriders. Thread would not be starting for several generations yet, that much everyone knew. The greens started to clutch without the hormones from the golds to stop them. At first the clutches were small then they started to get bigger as each Green started to grow in size, Rising less often.
Now generations later the Greens are just as big as the Northern Golds were, and the Blues the size of Bronzes. Their old ranks were filled in as well. The Greens and Blues had replaced the golds and bronzes. Then there were the Earths and Winds to replace the Browns, and the Coals and Ashes filled in the old ranks of Blues and Greens.
Now it is Ayana's generation. Everything is prospering. The underwater firestone mine is still producing the concentrated firestone that will be handy when Thread starts falling again. The wilds felines still lurk in the shadows while the wild whers are rarely seen. The one wher at the Weyr cannot clutch even though she is a clutching rank. However the Ametrine Lunask seems to keep an eye on the night guards that patrol the Weyr like one day they will take care of her children.
Many things are still hidden and secrets to be uncovered.
There is only one way to find out any of these secrets.
